The 1976 film "All the President's Men", received direction from Alan J. Pakula and stars Robert Redford (Class of 1959), Jason Robards (Class of 1948), and Dustin Hoffman.
Based on the 1974 book of the same name by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, the film received critical acclaim for its telling of the notorious Watergate scandal. The pair were portrayed onscreen by Mr. Redford and Mr. Hoffman.
Praised for its strong performances and critical analysis of a pressing contemporary issue (one that still holds weight today) the film won 4 Oscars, one of which honoring Mr. Robards' acting with Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
The film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2010.
