Updated: Nov 16, 2021
Paul Thomas Anderson, known for his award-winning films such as “Phantom Thread,” “There Will Be Blood,” and “Boogie Nights,” is coming out with a new film this November and it will feature incredible actors such as Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper, Maya Rudolph, and academy alum Christine Ebersole (Class of 1975).
The film, titled “Licorice Pizza,” follows a pair of high school students in the 1970s in the San Fernando Valley as they fall in and out of love with one another. The students are played by Alana Haim and Philip Seymour Hoffman's son, Cooper Hoffman.
The story showcases the good and bad of falling in love for the first time all against the backdrop of Hollywood. Christine Ebersole’s role in the film is still unknown but with her talents, we have no doubt she will blow the audiences away. She won the 2007 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her work in "Grey Gardens". Previously, she was awarded the Drama Desk Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, the Drama League awarded her both a citation and the Outstanding Performance of the Year, and she was named to its dais for 2007. She also received a special citation from the New York Drama Critics' Circle and the Obie for her off-Broadway turn in "Grey Gardens".
