Alumni 2023 Golden Globe Nominations

Below is the complete list of Academy Alumni who have been nominated at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.


Jessica Chastain (Class of 1998)

This is not the first time Jessica Chastain has been nominated for playing a woman named Tammy, while last year she was nominated for playing Tammy Faye Baker this year she is nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television” for portraying Tammy Wynette in George & Tammy. With only two episodes released the Showtime mini-series promises to show the highs and lows of the tumultuous relationship and careers of country music icons George Jones and Tammy Wynette, as well as how much is too high to pay for the price of fame and love.

Adam Scott (Class of 1993)

For his first Golden Globes nomination, Adam Scott has been nominated in the “Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama” category, for his role as Mark in the self-produced Apple TV+ drama mystery, Severance. The show has received rave reviews from critics and is applauded for its originality. Severance has also been nominated for “Best Television Series - Drama.” It was nominated for fourteen Emmy nominations this past year, including “Outstanding Drama Series,” securing two wins. It has also been renewed for a second season.

Jennifer Coolidge (Class of 1982)

The career-changing role of Tanya McQuaid is the gift that keeps on giving for one Jennifer Coolidge who has been nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture for Television.” This is Coolidge's second time being nominated for a Golden Globe, the first being season one of The White Lotus in 2022. The season two finale was released this past Sunday and has people talking. Season two saw a whole new cast of characters played by the likes of F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hollander, and Michael Imperioli. Coolidge was the only major star of the first season to return for the second. A third season has been announced.

Julia Garner (Specialized Training 2008)

This marks Garner’s second and third Golden Globe nominations. She has been nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series” for her role as Ruth Langmore in Netflix’s hit crime drama Ozark. The show received three nominations this year including “Best Television Series - Drama.” This is the second time the role of Ruth secured Garner a nomination, the first being in 2021. Garner is also nominated in the “Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television” category for her turn as the Instagram famous German heiress Anna Delvey in Netflix’s limited series Inventing Anna.
