The Academy is excited for alumna Hayley Marie Norman (Class of 2004) after announcing her recurring role as Janay in NBC's show "Kenan" for Season 2.
The comedy show follows the recently widowed host of Atlanta’s no. 2 morning show who struggles to balance his job and his young daughters despite all the “help” he gets from his father-in-law and his brother/assistant/manager/house guest Gary. NBC renewed the series this past April for a second season where Norman will appear. Norman's character, Janay, is described as hilarious, fierce, caring, and driven.
Norman wrote about her exciting news in an instagram post, stating:
"Being a part of this show has been such a dream for me. I watched every single episode of the first season. It's one of the few shows that had me still thinking and laughing about it th enext day. I would go over to my lil' groupchat and we'd talk about each episode and our favorite jokes. Without fail I would say, 'I want to be on Kenan!' ...and now I am! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this happen. I'm very grateful and having a wonderful time!"
Norman can currently be seen in Peacock’s "A.P. Bio" fourth season in the role of Shayla Howard. She will next appear opposite Kat Dennings in the upcoming season premiere of Hulu’s "Dollface" from Michelle Nader and Jordan Weiss. Additionally, Norman just wrapped a starring role in the indie pilot "Honeycomb" alongside Baron Vaughn and Joe Mande from filmmaker Sam Roden.
