Above all, it is an excellently-serviced production of a play every mystery lover should try and see at least once.” - From Andrew Child’s Broadway World review of The Group Rep’s production of The Mousetrap.

Class of 2020 alumnus Alec Helton is helping The Group Rep Theater kick off its 50th Anniversary Season with Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap. Helton plays Detective Sergeant Trotter, who unexpectedly arrives at Monkswell Manor, where seven strangers have been stranded due to a blizzard, to search for a murder-at-large among the marooned guests. Suddenly a guest is murdered, and the race is on to find the killer before someone else is sent to the other side.

The play opened on October 6th, which happened to coincide with the 70th Anniversary of The Mousetrap. Starting in 1952, the show is the world’s longest-continuously-running play, according to Broadway World. The Group Rep Theater’s production is helmed by long-time Academy guest director Dr. Jules Aaron.

The show will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm till November 13th. General Admission: $35. Seniors & Students with ID: $30. Parties 10+: $25. Tickets can be purchased here.
