AMC’s new crime drama, Dark Winds, just had its season finale this past Sunday and has already been renewed for a second season. Robert Redford (Class of 1959) served as an executive producer for the first season.

The show follows a pair of Navajo police officers whose own spiritual beliefs are put to the test as they try to solve a murder case. The show features TV regulars Zahn McClarnon, Rainn Wilson, and Noah Emmerich, as well as, Twilight alumn Kiowa Gordan. It was shot by the first Native American-owned film and TV studio, Camel Rock Studios.

Winds is based on a story by Tony Hillerman, and it's not the first time one of his novels has been adapted. In 1991 there was a film adaptation of The Dark Winds, which Redford also produced.
