The Nest 501(c)(3) presents Goldfish, a new production directed by Amanda Bird ('09) that continues the company’s tradition of intimate, thought-provoking theatre. At its heart, the play examines codependent familial relationships and the first loves that save us from it all…for a time.
From the outset, Bird recognized the urgency of the story as her own familial relationships have been changing and shifting. She encouraged each actor to “find their voice in the character,” shaping Goldfish into a deeply personal, ensemble-driven work. Bird designed the play space to immerse the audience into the intimate staging, drawing viewers directly into the emotional heart of the story, blurring the line between performance and lived experience.
